In collaboration with BSC the Life Sciences department, the group has looked at the breaks happening among chromosomes of cancer patients. Given a predefined window size, this code generates a graph representation of the breaks. These graphs are then explored using various graph analitics techniques. [link]
The group proposed a community detection algorithm, based on a propagation policy. The Fluid Communities algorithm is extremly scalable, and able to compete with the most popular algorithms in terms of performance. See the paper for further details. The code is integrated in the iGraph and networkX graph libraries.
